Dr. Tammy-Nuzzo Morgan

Bio

Dr. Tammy Nuzzo-Morgan is a poet of great talent and innumerable honors. In 2001 and she founded The North Sea Poetry Scene, Inc. As Executive Director, she offered readings and workshops in schools and prisons, awarded scholarships to local students, fundraised for community charities and advocated for social justice causes. Her publications include five book. She was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for her book, Let Me Tell You Something, in 2006. Suffolk County appointed her Poet Laureate 2009 – 2011, during which time she was the recipient of the LIWG Community Service Award and the Mobius’ Editor-in-Chief Award. In 2009, she also obtained a position as Adjunct Professor at Briarcliffe College, Patchogue Campus, where she continues to teach. In 2011, she opened the L. I. Poetry Archival/Arts Center, began teaching poetry in Wales & Ireland, was appointed Faculty Advisor to the Poetry Club, and her Mobius anthology, “Beneath an Irish Sky” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She currently is an assistant professor at Long Island University.


Dr. Morgan received her Ph.D. at Union Institute & University in Interdisciplinary Studies – Humanities & Culture. She has an MFA in Creative Writing & Literature, an MBA in Management/ Banking and Finance, and a BS in Accounting/Business Administration.
