The International Youth Fellowship
Educational Foundation would like to introduce a Youth
Orchestra to the Huntington community that encompasses the
heart of IYF, which Challenge, Change and Cohesion.
Through the Gracias Youth Orchestra of
Huntington the youth will have an opportunity to …
CHALLENGE themselves in music beyond
private lessons allowing them to express the music they play
and to enhance performance skills while working along side
with others.
CHANGE in gaining a better understanding
of the composer and the time periods of the pieces they will
be learning and playing together. Knowing and learning about
the piece and composer allows one to express the music more
accurately.
COHESION with other youth and great
musicians of today will allow each member to grow as a
musician, gaining experience and sharing experiences with
others, and also build a strong lasting relationships and
foundation in life.
Seeking performers for
violin, cello,
viola, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, horn, trumpet, tuba,
trombone, and percussion.

About the conductor
Israeli born
conductor Bar Haimov started his musical journey as a
violinist and a violist. He then took up conducting studies
at the age of fourteen under the instruction of the British
conductor Jonathan Webb.
In New York, Mr. Haimov studied music theory at the
Mannes College of music and orchestral conducting at the
State University of New York at Old Westbury under Arkady
Leytush where he was also assistant conductor and conducted
numerous concerts.
