The road to becoming a viable, burgeoning college in
New York State is an arduous process that requires months,
even years of careful planning, academic development, and
detailed research and development. Mahanaim is striving each
day to reach its long term aspirations of becoming a college.
The ultimate goals of Mahanaim are five-fold:
1. To cultivate the leaders
of tomorrow through the wisdom of God Mahanaim has
been established to assist in spreading the Gospel all over
the world. It will become a key instrument in distributing the
love of God to those that are living without peace and
happiness. Mahanaim will represent the heart of God by being a
place that provides direct support, comfort, protection, and
personal development in battling this world of diminished
hope.
2. To uphold the virtues of
Challenge, Change, and Cohesion As the landscape of
higher education changes, so do academic standards and
expectations. Being part of Mahanaim means to challenge
one’s spirit in confronting and overcoming difficult
circumstances, which lead to both personal and global change.
Bringing forth change requires people, along with their ideas,
plans, and actions, to become unified. Success at Mahanaim
depends upon the ability to commence with one heart and one
common goal as a cohesive unit under God.
3. To become a college that
harbors academic excellence Mahanaim will dedicate
itself to recruiting leading instructors from all over the
world. This faculty will not only teach, guide, and mentor,
and convey a strong sense of focus and dignity towards
academic growth, but will accentuate the invaluable effects of
practical experience. When students can wield the power that
stems from first-hand field experience in concordance with
their in-class education, it will mold them into indispensable
contributors to society.
4. To become an institution
that helps change the world Mahanaim plans on
creating academic programs and extra-curricular activities
that have global reach. A person can live either a narrow life
that is focused on self-gratification, or can live for a
bigger purpose with a potential to change the lives of
countless people around the world. Whether in world missions,
theology, or musical performance, Mahanaim plans on educating
its students not to learn and develop their skill sets for
selfish reasons, but to become true, selfless agents of change
in a world that desperately needs hope. Mahanaim believes the
capacity to bring forth change means that one be free from
their own personal confines so they can devote their energy
and spirit to something bigger than themselves.
5. To be a place that
respects and embraces the community and serves its community
Mahanaim is grateful to be a part of such a loving, accepting
community in Huntington. As a new but, hopefully,
lasting member to the neighborhood, Mahanaim will devote
itself to initiating community outreach, cultural exchange,
musical performances, and betterment of the environment, all
in efforts to create an even better living environment for the
citizens of its surrounding communities.
