Gracias Music at Mahanaim is looking for
talented, passionate, and dedicated individuals from all over
the world who are willing to embrace music – in the areas of
voice, instrument, conducting and composition.
The four-year Diploma program does not
include a Liberal Arts curriculum and is intended for a few
very gifted undergraduate musicians who, for personal or
professional reasons, must pursue a non-degree course of study
concentrating almost exclusively on performance. Candidates
for admission must be high school graduates or possess the
equivalent of a high school diploma by the time they enroll.
To be considered for admission to The
Gracias School applicants must:
- Submit an application for admission
- Provide the supporting documents and
materials outlined in the application.
- Complete the audition process
- Take an English placement test if you
are non-native English speaker. (TOEFL)
- Send in Audition DVD. (Audition Repertoires)
Application Requirements
Application and Fee
- Applicants to the Gracias School must
submit an online application. (All applications and
supporting documents are due by December 1st )
- New applicants - $100 non-refundable
application fee.
Transcripts
- Official transcripts of all academic
institutions attended must be submitted in a sealed envelope
from the institution, or sent directly from the issuing
institution. Transcripts in a language other than English
must be translated by an official translator and notarized.

Essay
- All applicants are required to submit a
one-page essay with their application on one of the following
topics :
- As you studied music, when was it
most difficult and how did you overcome that difficulty?
- What kind of musician do you want to
become?
- o What makes a great musician?
Recommendations
- Applicants must list the names and
email addresses
- Two letters of recommendation are
required, one from a current teacher of the academic
institute and one from a music teacher.
Audition
After application and supporting documents are received, the
school will notify applicants of their audition date.
Applicants must have all required repertoires ready to perform
before a faculty panel. Audition results are only one of the
many criteria in determining admission eligibility. Provided
that all required materials have been received the admission
results will be mailed by February 6th . Results are not

Tests
The Gracias School of Music does not
require the SAT or TOEFL for non-English speakers. However,
non-English speakers must take a placement test, and may place
out of ESL.
